Limestone
Limestones are visually beautiful natural stones with mostly light colours and characteristically strong texture variations. Thanks to its fine and soft texture, the quarried natural stone is often used for floors or wall panels and gives your home a feeling of cosiness.
Typical colours of the limestone varieties are creamy beige or brown. Less common are reddish, grey or black limestone colours. The differences to other natural stones lie in their rock composition. The sedimentary rock consists mainly of the minerals calcite and aragonite. Various minerals are added in more or less fluctuating proportions and provide the colouring of the limestones. Limestone is formed by the chemical separation of calcite or by lime produced by organisms.
